dumpled wrapper recipe adapted from NextBigFuture.com dumperers recipe features: 1/2 cup vegan brown sugar 1/4 cup vegan peanut butter 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon 1/6 teaspoon cloves 1/3 cup water 1 teaspoon vegan chocolate chips or cocoa powder 1 tablespoon vegan soy sauce or tamari 1 tablespoon rice vinegar 1/16 teaspoon salt or more to taste Instructions For the brown sugar, combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk until combined.
For the peanut butter, whisk in the vegan brown, soy, and peanut butter together in a separate bowl until well blended.
Stir in the cinnamon, cloves, and water and blend well until smooth.
For this recipe, I added a little extra water to make it slightly thicker.
For a thicker batter, whisk the batter into a 9×13 inch pan.
Place the dumpler in the pan and cook over medium heat until lightly browned, about 8-10 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool.
For an even deeper brown, whisk 1/10 of the water into the batter to bring it to a thick consistency.
Place into a small bowl and cool to room temperature.
For another thick batter, place 1/20 of the batter in the same pan and let it cook until golden brown.
Remove the dummies from the pan.
For vegan brown and soy sauce, add 1 tablespoon soy sauce to 1 tablespoon water.
Stir to combine.
Add another tablespoon of soy sauce and mix well until well combined.
If you don’t have a food processor, you can use a blender and blend it until smooth and creamy.
Place dumper into the freezer for at least 1 hour.
For soy sauce sauce, heat the water in a saucepan over medium-high heat until it reaches a simmer.
Once the water has reached a simmer, turn the heat down to low.
Once simmering, turn down the heat to low again and simmer the dums for about 30-40 minutes until fully soft.
Remove dumps from the ice cold saucepan.
Let them cool slightly and then cut into dumples.
For more vegan browns, add a teaspoon of vegan brown sauce to the pan to the mix and mix to incorporate.
Store dumplings in the freezer until ready to serve. Enjoy!
